CA-CPT Dec 2018: 5 tips to make preparation easy!

Only a few days left to go for CPT Dec ’18. Although CPT is just the first step towards the bigger dream i.e. Chartered Accountancy, it becomes very crucial for you to test your preparation.

Let us suggest you a few valuable and rather important tips which will make your CPT preparation easy.

Tip #1 - Make a schedule! When you go into a cricket match, you simply don’t go without your cricket kit. Similarly, much like your cricket kit, a good schedule is required to be followed few days before your CPT paper. It works as well as keeping your wicket on the pitch. Following a good schedule will not only help you keep up with your practice but also boost your confidence. So leave everything aside and make a schedule right away! Make sure that your schedule includes a well-defined study planner along with the required amount of breaks and ample of room for mock tests, sample papers, previous years’ papers, and most importantly, a few expert video lessons that help you with the essential tips and tricks to tackle the lengthy and difficult questions in the exam.

Tip #2 - Don’t blindly go for whichever topic that comes your way. It is important to know the topic you’re getting into; perform a SWOT analysis. We have been stressing on the SWOT analysis for quite some time now since it forms the basis of your study ritual for the few days which are left. Knowing your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats will help you realize the best possible manner to prepare for CPT and will give you clarity on whether a subject or topic is to be studied.

Tip #3- Say this to yourself- “I believe in ME”. Don’t stress out or be anxious; it will only worsen the condition.

You have prepared for CPT for quite a long time now; it’s time to reap the benefits. If you feel stressed out, please speak to your family or a close friend.

Tip #4 - Assuming that you have done your SWOT analysis, you are well aware of the areas that you are good at and the areas that you need to work on. Accordingly it is suggested to not touch any fresh topics but work on the ones you have already studied for. It will not just save time but also let you feel confident about your preparation.

Tip #5 – We all have our own likes and dislikes when it comes to studying the subjects in CPT yet practicing only the ones we like to will make you ignore the other subjects which may be of importance and carry more marks. You must also strike a balance between theory and practical, it will enable you to manage time during your practice and CPT too.

Apart from these tips, consistent practice is required in order to score more in CA-CPT. You can practise with CA-CPT mock tests, sample papers and previous year question papers. These will improve your speed, analysing capacity, knowledge about the changing pattern of the question papers and time management skills.

This is the time where you just need to focus on your CA-CPT preparation. Complement your preparation with the study materials and recorded video lectures delivered by the faculty of J.K. Shah Classes available at CAprep18. It is a dedicated platform to prepare you for CA exams and to improve your chances of clearing the exams to become a renowned CA.
