CA CPT Results for December 2018

Students of CA, who had appeared for CPT exams in June 2018 can finally breathe easy. The exams were held, as scheduled, on 16th December 2018, and for many of our students it fared pretty well. What a great relief it must be, to finally break free from all that incessant studying! We are sure you have done a great job. Now, keep calm, and wait for CA-CPT December 2018 results to arrive.

So, when can you expect the results for CA-CPT December 2018 to be published? Usually, ICAI publishes CPT results within one month from the date of the exam. The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) is expected to announce the result for Chartered Accountants Common Proficiency Test (CPT) Examination by third week of Jan 2019.

  • The results will be published in the form of region-wise lists.
  • Students who clear CA-CPT December 2018 exam will be issued marksheet within 2 weeks from the announcement of the results.
  • Students who clear CPT December 2018 will become eligible to appear for CA-Intermediate.

Full marks – 60

Minimum Passing marks – 18

Students appearing for CPT June 2018, must score at least 30 % in each subject; and an overall 50% in the aggregate.

Therefore to clear CPT, students must score 100 out of 200 in aggregate over and above the minimum passing marks in each subject.

Sec B - Mercantile Laws

Full marks – 40

Minimum Passing marks – 12

Sec C - General Economies

Full marks – 50

Minimum Passing marks – 15

Sec D - Quantitative Aptitude

Full marks – 50

Minimum Passing marks – 15

How to Check CA-CPT December 2018 Results?

There are 3 ways in which students can check the CPT December 2018 results:

  • Firstly, students can login to the ICAI website with their user id and password, and follow instructions to check result.
  • Secondly, students can receive results via SMS by sending CACPT (space) ‘Roll Number’ to 58888
  • Thirdly, students can register their e-mail id with ICAI and get their results delivered in their mail box.

Procedure for Verification of Marks for CPT 2018

Not happy with your marks? You can always go for verification of marks.

Students can apply for verification of marks, either through a hand-written application to ICAI, or by filing an online plea from http://icaiexam.icai.org within a month from the date of declaration of results. Students will be required to furnish the following details:

  • Student Name
  • Student Registration No 
  • Name of Exam Along With Attempt
  • Month and year of the exam
  • Roll No
  • Paper(s)/subjects to be verified
  • Address for communication 

If you make a physical application, it must be in your own handwriting. If you had opted for Hindi medium in the examination, your application should be in Hindi. Typewritten applications will not be entertained. And, there is no standard format for such applications. However, the application should be duly signed by the candidate. 

Procedure to apply for Duplicate Marksheet

Lost your marksheet? No issues! You can apply for a duplicate marksheet. But make sure you keep this one safe. Here is the procedure to apply for a duplicate marksheet:

  • Submit copies of Pass Certificate to the ICAI for which you need a duplicate. Don’t have copies? Don’t you worry! Just furnish your student registration number, month & year of appearance and examination and your roll number.  Cross check details before submitting.
  • Make an affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper worth Rs.10/-  duly attested by an Oath Commissioner or Notary Public or a First Class Magistrate stating that you were in possession of such a Pass Certificate and that you have lost (or you have has not been received it till date) and that you undertake to return the duplicate Pass Certificate if the original certificate is either traced or received by you in future and that you will indemnify the ICAI for any loss that ICAI may suffer on this account. Click here for the format of the affidavit.
  • Given that you follow the first two steps meticulously, the duplicate Pass / Rank Certificates will be issued to you within twenty days of receipt of your request.

What after Clearing CPT December 2018?

Once your results for CPT December 2018 are out, provided you clear exams, it will be time for you to move on to CA-Intermediate. CA-Intermediate was earlier known as CA-IPCC. Under the revised scheme, introduced by ICAI, a lot more than just the name has changed. There is a vast difference in the syllabus and the level of difficulty between CA-IPCC and CA-Intermediate.

In CA-Intermediate, you will have 8 subjects divided in two Groups. You can either appear for Group 1 and Group 2 together or you can opt for the groups separately. Since the syllabus is both vast and new, our advice to you is to start immediately.
