CA CPT Results for December 2018

To become a Chartered Accountant, one has to clear 3 levels of entrance exams. The level- 1 exam is called CA CPT. CA CPT is held twice a year in June and December. It was last conducted on 16th December, 2018. The result for the same is expected to be published soon as ICAI releases results within a month of conduction of CA CPT. Refer to the table given below to find out about the most important dates pertaining to CA CPT 2019 results.

How to Check CA-Foundation Results Online?


CA CPT Results are published by ICAI. In order to check result online, students have to visit the official website of ICAI (icai.org). There, students will come across the result link for CA CPT Dec 2018. Students are requested to click on the link and follow the following steps to check CA CPT result:

Step 1: Enter Roll number

Step 2: Enter Registration number/ Pin for CPT December 2018

Step 3: Enter CAPTCHA code appearing on the screen.

Step 4: Click on the ‘login’ button on the screen

Step 5: Check result appearing on the screen

The displayed result will mention the overall marks scored by the student as well as the section-wise marks scored in individual papers. 

CA CPT Results via E-mail


Students can request ICAI to mail them their CA CPT results. In order to do so, students are required to register their e-mail id @ icaiexam.icai.org. This can be done in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Visit the site mentioned above.

Step 2: Click on the ‘CA CPT Result 2018 on Email Id’ link

Step 3: Click on the ‘Login/Registration Tab’.

Step 4: Enter user id and password to log in to your ICAI registered account.

Step 5: A link for e-mail registration will now be available on your screen.

Step 6: It will require students to enter their name, roll no., e-mail id, and captcha code.

Step 7: After entering the details, click on ‘Register Me’ to successfully register your e-mail id.


CA-CPT Result via SMS


Students may also opt to receive their CA CPT result via SMS. To do that, students need to type 'CA CPT [space] Roll Number and send it to 58888.

Full marks – 60

Minimum Passing marks – 18

Students appearing for CPT June 2018, must score at least 30 % in each subject; and an overall 50% in the aggregate.

Therefore to clear CPT, students must score 100 out of 200 in aggregate over and above the minimum passing marks in each subject.

Sec B - Mercantile Laws

Full marks – 40

Minimum Passing marks – 12

Sec C - General Economies

Full marks – 50

Minimum Passing marks – 15

Sec D - Quantitative Aptitude

Full marks – 50

Minimum Passing marks – 15

 

CA CPT Results Analysis


As per CPT Result’s analysis, it has been noted that the pass percentage has dipped in 2018 as compared to the previous year. The pass percentage in CPT Dec 2017 was 38.02% whereas the pass percentage in CPT June 2018 was 28.06%. As per the numbers, more female students had cracked CPT in 2018 than male students. This was not the trend in CPT December 2017. For the full gender-wise break up of CPT June results, refer to the table below:

CA CPT Result Card


ICAI issues result card to all those CA CPT candidates who have successfully cleared the exam. The result card is issued within two weeks after the declaration of the result. So, candidates who had appeared for CA CPT in December 2018 can expect to receive their result card by the end of January 2019, upon clearing the exam. Candidates will be able to obtain the CA result card online by logging in to their ICAI account. Candidates who obtain 70% marks or more in CA CPT will also be additionally awarded a “pass with distinction” certificate.


How to Apply for Duplicate Mark Sheet for CA- CPT?


So, what happens if a student misplaces their CA CPT Mark Sheet? In such a scenario, the student will be required to send an application to ICAI requesting a duplicate mark sheet. The application must consist of the student’s details like registration number, month and year in which the student had attempted the CPT exam, and CPT roll number. The application must be filed with in non-judiciary stamp paper with an affidavit of Rs. 10, and the application must be duly attested by either by the Oath Commissioner or by a First- Class Magistrate. ICAI will issue a duplicate mark sheet for the student within 20 days of receiving the application.


Verification of Marks for CA-CPT


In order to apply for verification of marks, students need to write an application and pay an application fee of INR which must be send via Demand Draft to the Secretary, the institute of Chartered Accountant of India. Students must send the application within one month after the declaration of results to the following address:

What to do after CA CPT?


Once your results for CPT Dec 2018 are out, provided you clear exams, it will be time for you to move on to CA-Intermediate. CA-Intermediate was earlier known as CA-IPCC. Under the revised scheme, introduced by ICAI, a lot more than just the name has changed. There is a vast difference in the syllabus and the level of difficulty between CA-IPCC and CA-Intermediate. 

In CA-Intermediate, you will have 8 subjects divided in two Groups. You can either appear for Group 1 and Group 2 together or you can opt for the groups separately. Since the syllabus is both vast and new, our advice to you is to start immediately.
