Ca Intermediate Complete Course Guide

So, you want to become a Chartered Accountant? It is one of the most prestigious careers for Commerce students. But, the sea of Chartered Accountancy is not easy to cross and one has to sail through its three layers to reach the shore. 

And, IPC, the Level- 2 of CA exams has now become CA Intermediate under the same scheme. But, before we move further into the syllabus, let us take a quick look at the eligibility criteria for CA Intermediate. 

CA Intermediate Eligibility

There are two routes to become eligible for CA Intermediate.

Route 1: By clearing the CA CPT or CA Foundation exam

Route 2: Through direct entry

To become eligible for CA Intermediate through direct entry a student has to be:

-          A commerce graduate/post-graduate with minimum 55% marks

-          Or, a non-commerce graduate/post-graduate with minimum 60% marks

A student can gain direct entry to CA Intermediate also if he or she has cleared the intermediate level of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

It is mandatory to observe a study period of 8 months, after registering for CA Intermediate. So, students who, for instance, are to appear for CA Intermediate May 2019 had to register themselves before 1st September, 2018.

CA Intermediate Registration

Registration for CA Intermediate happens twice a year. For the May attempt, the registration takes place in September, the previous year. And, for the November attempt, the registration takes place before 1st March, the same year. To begin the registration process, students need to visit the official website of ICAI (www.icai.org). CA Intermediate Application form

After registering with ICAI, students will be able to fill the application form. The application form will require the students to fill personal details. Given below are the details about the application form, relevant to your attempt:

 23rd  march 2019

Last date of receipt of PDF by ICAI (without late fees, In case your photo or signature is not appearing)

CA Intermediate Admit Card

The CA Intermediate admit card will be made available online, some 20 days before the exam. To download the admit card, students need to visit the official ICAI website. Please note that the CA Intermediate admit cards will not be available offline.

After receiving the admit cards, students are requested to go through the details. In case of any discrepancy regarding medium/center, students must notify the exam conducting body immediately. Students will get a chance to rectify the errors.

CA Intermediate Results

ICAI will declare results two months after the conduction of the exam. Students who appeared for November 2018 will get to know their results in the 1st week of February. However, Students appearing for May 2019 attempt may expect the results to be declared by the mid of July. For more details, keep an eye out blog section.

CA Intermediate Study Plan

An ideal study plan for CA Intermediate should be divided into 3 phases:

-          Learning Phase- 180 Days

-          Review Phase- 45 Days

-          Revision Phase- 15 Days

Tips to Effectively Crack CA Intermediate:

-          Go for limited but daily self-study with set targets for the day

-          Daily review your previous study before starting something fresh next day

-          Increase your hours of study on weekends and holidays

-          Go for qualitative study with a healthy mind

-          Refer only one course material (preferably ICAI’s modules) + RTPs+ practice manual

-          Set your daily schedule
