CA Intermediate 2019 Registration Process and Eligibility Criteria
Hi there! Are you planning to appear for CA Intermediate in 2019? CA Intermediate exams are conducted twice a year, once in May and again in November. The CA Inter registration window is open throughout the year, but for any given attempt you have register yourself before the last date for that attempt. To be eligible for CA Intermediate 2019 exams in either May or November, students have to register 8 months in prior. For exact dates, refer to the table below.

To be eligible for CA Inter May 2019, you should have registered yourself by 1st September, thereby allowing yourself a gap of 8 months to prepare for the exam. Similarly, to be able to sit for the CA Intermediate November 2019 attempt, you must register yourself before 1st March 2019.

Eligibility criteria for CA Intermediate 2019
There are two routes to become eligible for CA Intermediate exam.
Route 1: By clearing CA Foundation/CPT exam
Route 2: Through the direct entry to CA Intermediate
CA Intermediate Direct Entry Scheme: How does it work?
Students will be eligible for CA Intermediate through the direct entry route under the following circumstances:
A. If a student is a commerce graduate/post-graduate and has scored minimum 55% marks in the exam. And, if the student is a non-commerce graduate/post-graduate, and has scored minimum 60% marks in the exam.
B. If the students have cleared the intermediate level of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
If you are a commerce graduate/postgraduate who have studied at least 3 subjects among Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or Management Accounting (or subjects similar to the title of these papers with different nomenclatures), and have secured a minimum of 55% in aggregate; you can apply for direct entry to CA. The degree procured by you must be from a recognized University (including Open University). And the aforementioned subjects must have had the minimum weightage of 50 marks in a semester/year and cumulatively 100 or more marks over the entire duration of the concerned course.
For a non-commerce graduates/postgraduates, on having completed your degree from a recognized University (including Open University) and upon securing a minimum of 60% in aggregate; you will become eligible for direct entry to CA Intermediate.
Additionally, students who have passed the Intermediate level examination conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India can register directly for CA Intermediate. They too are exempted from appearing for CA-CPT/Foundation.
How to Register for CA Intermediate?
Students appearing for CA Intermediate will have to register for the course by filling out the registration form available online on the ICAI website (www.icai.org). The form is to be found in the “Course Registration Forms” option under the tab called “Students”.

In addition to the above, direct entry students also need to register themselves for the ITT and OP training program before registering for the practical training each for 15 days.
The fee structure for these programs are:
For ITT (Information Technology Training) Program is INR 6500/- inclusive of the study materials and refreshments provided by the ICAI.The fee for the OP (Orientation Program) is INR 7000/- inclusive of study materials and refreshments provided by the ICAI.
Validity Period for CA Intermediate Registration
Registration fee paid for CA Intermediate Course registration is valid for 4 years or for 8 attempts from which candidate is eligible for examinations. After 4 years, the candidate can revalidate it for further for 4 years by paying revalidation fee of Rs.400. The fee may be revised by the Council from the time to time.
Step 3: Post that, the system will automatically generate the confirmation form, which the student needs to get printed.
Step 4: Within 7 days of the date of online registration, submit the registration confirmation form along with the following documents to the concerned regional office in consonance with the address, duly signed by the student.
Documents required for CA Intermediate Registration:
• Students who became eligible for CA Intermediate via the Foundation Route students will have to submit the attested copy of the Class 12 mark sheet.
• For those students who became eligible for CA Intermediate through the Direct Entry Route, students will be required to submit the attested copy of their Graduation and Post-Graduation mark statements.
• Those students who have cleared the Intermediate level of other exams of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India will also have to produce the mark sheet of the exam cleared by them.
• Colored photograph of the candidate, which is to be affixed on the printout of the registration form.
• Attested copy of proof of Nationality, if the student is a foreigner.
• If the candidate comes under any of the reserved categories such as SC/ST, OBC, they have to produce an attested copy of proof of special category certificate.
