IPCC Old Syllabus to continue till May 2020?
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) introduced numerous changes in the courses to be pursued along with the course materials. These changes have created a major impact on the students. All those who have appeared for their IPCC exam and are not happy with their performances are highly worried now.
The major reason for their worry is the fact that May 2019 is the last available opportunity for them to clear their IPCC. If not, they will have to register for CA Intermediate which is similar to beginning it all over again.
The mental trauma of restarting is not everyone’s cup of tea. Handful of students are capable of preparing themselves mentally to opt for the new syllabus. Almost 50% students have mentally made up their mind to QUIT. But the prefix CA is worth all the pain. It not only provides material benefits but also adds to the social status of the person.
The way music heals a broken heart, this announcement is a life-saver for umpteen students. This major news is:
In a recent press release dated 21.12.18, ICAI has agreed to provide additional attempts to all the IPCC students registered under the old syllabus. Prior to the announcement the last attempt was May 2019 which is now extended to 2 more attempts after May 2019. This covers November 2019 and May 2020. So now, the last attempt would be in May 2020.

This announcement is like an energy booster for all the IPCC students. Enough time to prepare and reach CA Final without even thinking of starting it all over again.
